SmartSuite's federated search allows your users to:
- Search EBSCO
- Bookmark EBSCO articles
- Add EBSCO articles to reference lists (bibliography)
- Load articles without having to log into EBSCO
However, in order for users to open articles without logging in, you will first need to action the following steps on your EBSCO Admin Portal:
1) Set Referring Link as your primary EBSCO persistent link authentication type:
a) Log into EBSCOadmin
b) Click the Customize Services tab
c) Click the Linking sub-tab
d) Under the Persistent Links heading, next to Preferred Authentication Order for Persistent Links, enter the authentication methods in the order you want them administered
e.g.
Referral URL - 1
EBSCOhost authentication cookie - 2
IP Authentication - 3
e) Click Submit.
2) Setting up Referring URL Authentication in EBSCO
a) Log into EBSCOadmin
b) Click the Authentication Tab. From the drop-down lists on the toolbar, select the site and group you want to work with.
c) Select the profile that you want to work with. Click the Referring URL Sub-Tab.
d) Click the Add Referring URL Link. The Add Referring URL Screen appears.
If you are administering a library consortium, from the Site ID drop-down list, select the site.
e) From the Group ID drop-down list, select the group.
f) In the Referring URL field, type in the web address that your patrons will be coming from: https://[SCHOOLNAMEPREFIX].functionalsolutions.com.au
e.g.
https://StCathPri.functionalsolutions.com.au/
g) Click Submit. The list of referring URLs appears with the new URL displayed.
