1. Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
2. Navigate to the “Default Web Site” and then click on “View Virtual Directories” located at the far right as shown below. In the page that opens, we shall be able to add a new Virtual Directory.
3. Click on “Add Virtual Directory” as illustrated above. A smaller pop-up window titled “Add Virtual Directory” will appear.
4. Enter in the Alias and then the physical path. (where your videos are located)
The new virtual directory will appear in the Virtual Directories list as per the image below:
5. Make sure that the folder is accessible by the local user everyone. To do this click on the Virtual Directory, Then click on "Edit Permissions..."
Once complete, You can test out it out by going to the local directory path and finding a file to test with.
Go to the HTTP address and add the file name to the end like this:
http://localhost/mutlimedia/testfile.mp4
If everything was set up correctly the file will stream.
Once it is working you will need to send the http address e.g. http://(Servername)/(VirtualDirectory)/
It will look like this:
http://libraryserver/mutlimedia/ to us here at FSI.
