Patron Synchronisation with Microsoft's Entra ID

SmartSuite now has the capability to synchronise your patrons/users automatically utilising Microsoft's Entra ID suite. 

No more start of year procedures or missing users when borrowing, as soon as the user is created in your organisations Entra, it will be automatically synchronised with SmartSuite. Any changes, they come across too.  

ePlatform Federated Search Integration

To complement the recent FSI Marketplace partnership with ePlatform eBooks, SmartSuite now has even more integration. 

Currently subscribing to ePlatform? - Have all of your eBooks appear as part of your SmartSuite Fedearted Search. 

New Wonde Configurable Mapping 

Does your SMS have some quirks with regards to fields where your data sits resulting in some anomalies with your SmartSuite <-> Wonde synchronisation? 

You now have the ability to customise the mapping of data fields from your Wonde ID table to the SmartSuite fields. 

Password Security Update - Alignment with the Australian Government ISM Standards

At FSI, protecting your school’s data is a responsibility we take seriously. We also recognise the practical realities of supporting environments with younger users, and we are always working to find the right balance between strong security and everyday usability.

To further strengthen system security and align with the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM), we have introduced updated password requirements for all new or changed passwords.

Under this update, passwords must now include:
• A minimum of 14 characters
• At least one uppercase letter
• At least one lowercase letter
• At least one special character

Existing passwords will continue to work as normal. The new standard will only apply when a password is created or reset.

The ISM is Australia’s core cybersecurity framework, published by the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD). It outlines the security controls government and education systems are expected to follow to help safeguard sensitive data and critical infrastructure.

This change is part of FSI’s ongoing commitment to strengthening platform security while maintaining a practical experience for schools.
