How to engage students with SmartSuite's My Profile

My Profile is one of the easiest and most engaging ways to encourage students to login to your system with customisable Avatars, Changeable backgrounds and Smart-Recommendations tailored for each individual student. 

We recommend the following 4-step process to on-board your students into SmartSuite. 

1) Setting up their logins

Ensure each student has an Email registered in their Patron Management screen. If your students don't have emails, speak to our Customer Service team on the best method for your situation. 

After ensuring your students have emails, walk your students through: 

a) Navigating to: www.functionalsolutions.com.au/login

b) Entering their email address

c) Clicking the tile with your school's name 

d) Clicking "Forgot my password" 

e) Opening the email SmartSuite sent them and clicking the Reset Password button

f) Entering a new password 

2) Customising their Avatars

Having your students customise their avatars introduces them to the My Profile page but also provides them with a sense of ownership over their domain within SmartSuite. 

After logging in: 

a) Navigate to their My Profile icon

b) Click Profile

c) Click the icon in the avatar display picture

d) Customise your avatar and click Save Avatar when you are finished

3) Selecting their own profile background

Students can personalise their profile by selecting their own background which will appear at the top of their My Profile window.

Providing additional customisation encourages ownership over their profile within the system.  

After logging in: 

a) Navigate to their My Profile icon

b) Click Profile

c) Click the icon in the background image

d) Select your prefered background and click Set Background Image

4) Head to recommendations for your students first loan or TV4Ed video stream

SmartSuite's new recommendations are tailored for each individual student that logs in. - The more they borrow and the more they stream, the more personalised the recommendations will become. 

Introduce students to your collection by having the system recommend books and/or videos to them and have them coming back for more, time and time again. 

After logging in: 

a) Navigate to their My Profile icon

b) Click Profile

c) Click the tab

d) Click on books to find out more OR click on videos to begin streaming
