Creating a custom copy status

You can create a custom copy status for items so it will: 

• Flag a warning in circulation if item is 'not for loan' or 'display only'
• Keep it's unique status instead of reverting to 'Available' if scanned into Circulation 

1. Head to System Menu > Configuration > Authority Editor. 

2. In Authority Editor, select Copy Status from the drop-down menu. 

3. Create your unique Copy Status by typing it into the first line & select the '+' icon to add. 

4. If you want your item's Copy Status to flag items as 'Unavailable' if passed through Circulation, leave the 'Is Available' tick box un-ticked. 

5. When items pass through circulation, they automatically change the item's status to 'Available'. If you want your items to retain their unique copy status if passed through Circulation, select the 'Retain status' tick box. 

6. You can now allocate this copy status to your collection items. You can also use this space to edit your copy statuses where needed.
