This article will detail how to build a new function in the Global Functions module on SmartSuite.
Creating a Function Template
1. Click the Menu and select Configuration > Global Functions.
2. This will land you on the list of Global Functions that already exist. This list is divided between Functions created by FSI and functions that you have created, Functions created by me.
Select the button along the bottom bar to start building your new function template.
3. Your new function template is for configuring where and what your function will affect. There are 3 main areas we need to configure on our new function template.
3a) The first area is the Global Function Group. This determines where your function will target.
NOTE: The Global Function Group also dictates where your function will save in 'Functions created by me'.
3b) The second area is Function. This determines what your function will target within the Global Function Group.
NOTE: Function options will change depending on which Global Function Group they belong to.
3c) The third area is Condition. Condition is a filter that gives SmartSuite more refined directions on where to search for the data that this new function will affect.
NOTE: You can set multiple conditions at a time by selecting the '+' icon at the end.
As an Example, if you wanted a function that affects all Copies in the Catalogue with a specific Loan Type, your configured function would look like this:
